The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is the governing body of Asian football and one of the six Confederations making up FIFA. AFC has 46 Member Associations and these represent more than half of the world’s population. In fact, just India and China have more than 2.5 billion people.
The AFC was formed in 1954. Its headquarters is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The AFC is responsible for running football in Asia. Among its various responsibilities are: regulating the game, drafting new laws to improve the sport, implementing the law, boosting grassroots and youth football, and conducting major competitions.

The AFC Champions League is the modern premier Asian club football competition and the platform from which football legends are made. The pages in Asian football’s history books are constantly being filled with unforgettable goals, the overcoming of adversity, and on-field feats that prove these players are the best of the best.
Hosted annually by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the tournament pits the top clubs from around the Asian region in numerous playoffs, to the excitement of millions of fans around the world. The champions receive a sizable amount in prize money, and most importantly a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup at the end of the year.
