In the wake of the devastating floods in Myanmar, QNET was determined to contribute towards the disaster relief operations happening in the country. In collaboration with our Independent Distributors (IDs) and our local partners, we have managed to donate survivor kits worth USD 20,000 which were distributed in Ingapu Village, one of the worst-affected places in the Hinthada area, in the Irrawaddy district.
QNET’s Myanmar Agency Head, Kyi Min, Han, was joined by QNET corporate staff and 100 QNET IDs in giving out the collected emergency supplies. They waded through knee-deep waters and distributed the survivor kits containing basic necessities such as rice, instant noodles, bread, milk powder, mineral water, basic first aid medicine, mosquito nets and torchlights. The contribution brought cheers to the flood victims who have been trying to get their lives back to normal after weeks of flooding.
“About 500 families from the village benefitted from this ‘QNET Cares’ aid programme. This is a small contribution that we can bring to the affected people to overcome their hardships. I must thank QNET and its network of IDs who worked tirelessly to put together the survivor kits,” said Min Han.
Heavy monsoon rains combined with Cyclone Komen have triggered landslides and floods that have affected the lives of over 330,000 people and have left close to a 100 dead. In the spirit of RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind), QNET rallied together to come to the aid of our brothers and sisters in Myanmar. We tried to address their immediate needs and so designed an emergency survivor kit which would support a family of five for three to five days.
We hope that our contribution will help these families rebuild their lives. Our aim through the ‘QNET Cares’ programme in Myanmar is to tell the people affected by the flood disaster that they are not alone and that we will do whatever we can to help. QNET hopes to touch more and more hearts through not just network marketing, but “in everything we do.”
