New Year’s Eve is a time for reflection and renewal, and, of course, celebration.

Indeed, there’s usually much partying and feasting as people bid farewell to one year and welcome the next.

Amid all the fun, however, the problem with New Year’s parties is our temptation to eat and drink too much.

Living healthier and losing weight are almost always among the most popular New Year’s resolutions. Yet, we risk cancelling these out even before the year has begun just by partying too hard.

That needn’t be the case. The good news is that it’s not impossible to enjoy yourself while maintaining your weight goals. It would be best if you partied intelligently, responsibly, and, importantly, plan ahead.

Here are five ways to do that with the help of Belite 123.

1. Don’t skip pre-party meals

If you commonly skip breakfast or lunch on the day of a big dinner party, you must stop! Reason? Meal skipping not only deprives the body of necessary nutrients, but it also makes you ravenous, and all but guarantees overindulging when you do eat.

Essentially, our bodies are programmed to survive. So, when we’re famished, we eat like there’s no tomorrow simply because our subconscious minds think there isn’t one.

This is why experts advise keeping to eating schedules, regardless of anything else you’ve got planned.

2. Get balanced nutrition

Maintaining meals, incidentally, doesn’t mean shovelling just anything into your mouth, even at a party. Pay attention to what you’re eating and go for balance, with enough protein, whole grains, and greens to satisfy and nourish the body.

Also, note that your metabolism will need a lift to burn off all the consumed calories later. Hence, it would help if you considered supplementing meals with Belite 123, QNET’s complete weight management formula.

Formulated from natural ingredients — like chrysanthemum flowers, kaffir lime leaves, and African mango extract — the three Belite teas are designed to boost metabolism levels and inhibit fat deposition while ridding the body of harmful toxins.

Best of all, they can suppress your appetite and help ensure you won’t overindulge. Taking Belite 123 helps increase satiety, curb hunger, and eliminate that “munching” habit.

3. Walk the party

Exercise burns fat, accelerates digestive processes, and prevents bloating. But don’t worry, no one’s recommending you lace up those sneakers and go for a run or walk midway through a bash.

What is advised, though, is that you don’t just sit in one spot all night and instead move around the party space.

Work the room, socialise, mingle, dance even, and before you know it, you’d have clocked in a couple of laps, felt a tad more energised, and dumped a few calories in the process.

4. Plan, pace and just say no

There can be a lot of social pressure at a party to take a bite of something or consume another drink. But it’s certainly possible to politely decline with a simple, “It’s delicious. But I’m stuffed!”

Of course, it is a party, and you don’t want to deprive yourself. As such, what you can do is plan what and how much you’re going to eat and drink. Also, learn to take it slow.

Pause between bites and put the cutlery down. Be mindful of what you’re eating. And most of all, stop when you’re full.

5. Remember the H20

Have you already had dinner and dessert but are contemplating another round of food? Try drinking some water first.

Thirst can mask itself as hunger. So, sipping a glass of water before, during and after meals is a great way to ensure you don’t overeat.

Water can also minimise the adverse effects of alcoholic beverages, keep you hydrated and help flush out harmful stuff from the system.

A fun, healthy time

Ringing in a new year should always be fun. And with the tips above, you won’t need to throw your diet off course or start the year feeling guilty.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2023!
