With a star cast like no other and a plotline made for people of all ages, you can’t help but pick up a tonne of leadership lessons from Sonic The Hedgehog, a live-action adaptation of a classic video game.
After a small-town police officer discovers an extremely fast hedgehog, they team up to defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on Sonic. Throughout the movie, not only do you feast your eyes on insane graphics, but you also learn a lot of leadership lessons from Sonic The Hedgehog and his team of friends. Here’s our top three.
1. Introduce Yourself
The movie opens with Sonic running away while being pursued by Dr Ivo Robotnik, and while this is happening, Sonic realises that he needs to back up a bit and tell his own story. One of the best things you can do as an ID is to tell your story to your team at QNET. Help them understand your background, your motivations, your goals, and what has helped you arrive at this point in your QNET journey. Letting your team get to know you better is the first step towards success.
2. Help Others Discover Their Leadership Potential
In one of the scenes, Sonic the Hedgehog sees a turtle trying to cross a busy road, his life in mortal danger. Sonic rescues the turtle, carrying him on a ride of his life, and helping him experience something completely outside his bubble, showing him so many different possibilities. The same goes in direct selling. Be the kind of leader who helps others see their leadership potential. Give them a taste for success, and help them see all of the great possibilities that come with it.
3. Keep Practising
When Tom the small-town police offer got into the big city police force, he was nervous and overwhelmed. But first, he had to resign from his old office. And so he practised, and practised, and practised. Just like a smart leader who looks to practising their skills so they can get better, Tom honed his speech until he was perfect at it. To be a good leader, you need to always put in the work and keep learning.
