Alright Cityzens, Manchester City faces off against Leicester City this weekend, and we’re getting our game faces (and sofas) on! A quick look at the current Premier League Ranking explains exactly why QNET, as the Sky Blue’s official direct selling partner, will be on the edge of our seats for the match against the formidable Foxes.
The Man City vs. Leicester City game kicks off on 22 December at Etihad Stadium, 00:30 IDT (Indochina Time).
Looking at the history between both teams, here are five fun facts you might not have known about before.
1. Sky Blues vs. Foxes From Then Till Now
Our team’s first match against the Foxes took place on 16 March 1895, back when Man City was known as St. Mark’s (West Gorton) and Leicester City’s official name was Leicester Fosse. Up till this previous season, our City has won 59 games against Leicester, drawn 29 and lost 30. So far so good!
2. Current League Ranking
Admittedly, Leicester City have performed admirably this season. They’ve won all five of their latest matches and currently sit at second place in the league rankings.
3. Why the Foxes?
By 1920, Leicester Fosse FC was officially known as ‘City’ and by 1948, in recognition of Leicestershire being the birthplace of foxhunting, the club incorporated the animal into their badge and coined the nickname ‘Foxes’.
4. King Power
Leicester City FC is owned by King Power International Group, Thailand’s leading duty-free chain. The Thai magnate acquired the club in August 2010.
5. Turnover To The Right City!
Riyad Mahrez, previously an attacking midfielder for Leicester City, became the first signing of the summer for Manchester City in July 2018. As far as we’re concerned, an absolute win for us, and an interesting player to watch during the Manchester City vs Leicester City match this weekend.
Tune in this weekend and support our City!
