The QNET family mourns the passing of Marussia Formula 1 Team driver Jules Bianchi.
Jules came on board the QNET sponsored Marussia F1 Team in March 2013 when he was just 23 years old, bringing with him a rich history of racing in his family. As a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, and having been reserve driver for the F1 teams Ferrari and Force India, amongst other credible achievements throughout his young racing career, Jules brought more than just a fresh face to the scene.
In December 2013, at the end of his impressive debut season, Jules was presented with the ‘Rookie of the Year’ Award at the 2013 Autosport Awards annual gala dinner in London, attended by stars from across the world of motor sport.
On 5 October 2014, Jules had an accident at the Suzuka Circuit during the Japanese Grand Prix that gave him a diffuse axonal injury. On 18 July 2015, after having been in coma for nine months at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire in Nice, France, his family released an announcement that Jules has passed away.
