It is the epitome of athleticism and what the human body can achieve when you put your mind to it. Tune out the noise and the negativity, and just go for your dreams – however impossible it might seem. Take a leaf out of 18-year-old Tunisian swimmer who shocked the world by winning gold. He entered as an afterthought and barely qualified for the finals, but ended up , beating out career swimmers and favourites. To find success in direct selling, you need to stop worrying about imaginary failures, and just go for it!

For the first time in Olympics history, two high jumpers from Qatar and Italy shared the podium and won a gold medal each. It was one of the most heart-warming moments of the Tokyo Olympics and one which we will remember forever. What we learnt from that moment is that we shouldn’t let our ego come in the way of someone else reaching their full potential as well. Although you play for your team or country, the real focus should be on industry excellence. Don’t be afraid to share the stage with other Achievers.

Know your limits and stay attuned to what your body and mind is telling you. If you keep going when you aren’t at your best, you are likely to sabotage your chances of success. Like with Simone Biles and several other athletes who withdrew from the Tokyo Olympics, take a step back to refresh and rejuvenate yourself. Then, come back stronger than ever.

Keep Your Plans Flexible

Another great lesson for direct sellers came from a Colombian athlete who lost in the first round of her Olympic debut. She had to change her strategy and came back to the London Olympics and won silver in a completely new sport. In 2016, she won her first gold, and is now a heavy favourite to win again this Tokyo Olympics. The key takeaway here is that you need to keep your big dream a constant, but be flexible about how you get there. You can always change your plans without changing your goals.

The biggest lesson we’ve learnt from the Tokyo Olympics this year is that no matter how much you stumble or fall – you should always get back up again. Just like in sports, a bad day doesn’t mean it’s the end of the direct selling road for you. So, keep your Olympic spirit going. And don’t forget to share this with your team.
